• about us

Porchlight Films is an independent Australian company producing premium drama for a worldwide audience.

Porchlight is the company behind the internationally acclaimed Animal Kingdom (2010) from director David Michôd and the thriller The Hunter (2011) starring Willem Dafoe.

We are currently in production on The Rover, Michôd’s follow-up feature film, which is being produced in association with David Linde at Lava Bear and features Guy Pearce and Robert Pattinson.

In 2012 Porchlight produced Lore, the much-anticipated second film from Australian director Cate Shortland (Somersault 2004) a co-production between Australia and Germany.  Also in 2012 Porchlight, in association with See Saw Films, produced the film adaptation of Christos Tsolkas’ novel Dead Europe, directed by Tony Krawitz (Jewboy, The Tall Man).

Porchlight produced two seasons of the hit-comedy series Laid for Australia’s ABC TV and is currently developing a high-end television drama series.  In 2013 Porchlight appointed Tanya Phegan as the Head of Television to expand our slate of television drama.

Porchlight Films was formed in 1996 by three producers: Vincent Sheehan, Liz Watts and Anita Sheehan.  Our distribution arm Jetty Distribution handles the ancillary sales and many of the ongoing rights in our catalogue.
